Mrs C is having a girlie night in on Friday, so it's a rare chance for me to get to the local multiplex. I've narrowed it down to a choice of two, Inglourius Basterds or The Taking of Pelham 123.

Your thoughts, please.

The other, rejected choices, are A Perfect Getaway, G-Force, GI Joe, Orphan, The Proposal, The Time Traveller's Wife, The Ugly Truth, Dance Flick, and I Love You Beth Cooper.

Looks like it's going to be the Tarantino tomorrow night. Thanks folks.

Aw, go on. See the Basterds.

I agree ... you prob'ly won't love it, but I think you'll enjoy Christoph Waltz as the funny Nazi.

Yeah, those Nazis could be really hilarious when they put their minds to it...

Though I haven't seen either I'd opt for IB over Pelham.

Haven't seen either, but Basterds gets 8.3 at IMDb and Pelham gets 6.8 (not a good score for a movie just out, as that's most likely to drop from here) so I'd go for Basterds.

Changed my mind - go and see The Ugly Truth.

Or perhaps The Times or The Independent or Empire's reviews?

You can't account for personal opinion... but opinion's swaying considerably my way given it's currently 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Maybe you should read THIS review first?!

Inglourious Basterds. Absolutely. It's excellent. I've not seen Pelham but the reviews I read weren't especially inspiring, but the new QT is (in my humble op) the best thing he's made since Pulp Fiction.
