The other day there was film from the '60's on TV . Some Frank Sinatra Cop thing about a gay killing. It lacked something. I couldn't think what. Then it struck me. Rapid. Cuts. There weren't any. In fact it featured camerawork that wouldn't have been out of place in a Kevin Smith film. This was one end of the spectrum. now , unfortunately too many films in which the fast cutting is almost painful.

Maybe it's my eyes. They aren't what they used to be. However , some films feature such a blur of images that it hurts ( ie the fight after the interrogation in " Quantum of Solace " ).

Add CGI and I have been known to shut my eyes - fr'instance "League of Gentleman" -esp the fight in Paris.

I blame pop videos
