I've just posted a new accolade called Credit Where It's Due, which features films directed by people who either began as actors, or are better known for acting. Can anyone think of others to add to the following? TIA! Woody Allen Warren Beatty Barbra Streisand Ida Lupino Penny Marshall Ron Howard Clint Eastwod Ben Stiller Steve Buscemi Kevin Spacey Leonard Nimoy Mabel Normand Charles Chaplin Buster Keaton Harold Lloyd

Must you add Mel?
Oh, Alan Alda did some directing. And don't forget Kenneth Branagh!
And did you know that Sean Connery directed a documentary?
Roger Moore directed some TV episodes.

Know what you mean, CL, but the accolade police don't make the law

But -- will definitley add Branagh and Alda -- thanks for that. Have also just added Danny DeVito, Ustinov, Orson Welles, Stallone, Albert Brooks, Mel Brooks and Hanks. Also Pythons Jones and Gilliam, and Jonathan Lynn. And Elaine May. Whew!
I did know about Connery, though not about Moore -- but, as usual with my accs, I've excluded TV, shorts and docos. Just a quirk, I'm afraid. I think this will bring the acc to 329 films, though, so whoever chases it should have some interesting reviewing. Have fun, all!

Whoa! This is already up to 329 movies! That's some accolade, that is. Of course, if you wanted to make it smaller, you could cut it down to their directing debut films - but I'm not sure you were looking for a small accolade.
(If it were me, I would have done it that way, and called it "And then they were Directors". But I prefer to make smaller accolades that even I can achieve [insert appropriate winking smilie here].) |

Wow! Thanks GG! Already have Steve Buscemi and DeNiro, but will add the rest asap. How could I forget Shatner's Groom Lake - distinguished as one of the worst films ever made As for Debbie Allen, I was going to include her, but I think she's only tv eps. Am I forgetting something?

Well, I don't mind this one fattening up, because the whole point is to document all the feature films in this category. Of course, if you cannot accept this awesome challenge I do have a bunch of smaller accs. As for me, I expect I can polish this one off in about -- oh, shall we say -- five years!!!
