What sad news - a truly lovely man and terrific actor. My late husband and I used to pal around with him and his then gf when he lived in Soho in the early 1970s. In recent days, of course, he was in the same theatre company along with our own dear demonic.
Listen to the first 6 minutes or so of this weeks 'Last Word' from BBC Radio 4 (don't know if non-British listeners will be able to listen): http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03pmk7m
Poor Roger. It's amazing how much coverage his death received in the media, mostly for the Trigger connection of course. He was bemused by all the adoration the show and his character received, but I know his family will be touched by the amount of genuine affection seen in the press and online. He was a lovely bloke, very easy going, with a gentleness and slow manner of speech that belied how smart he was. RIP.
