I will also remember him fondly for making some sense out of the mess that was BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES, thus preserving the franchise for Fox. The Apes series used both the Fox back lot and then, later, in #4, the sterile office complex that real estate developers built on top of part of that back lot, "Century City." Thus you can see the dissolution of a great studio before your very eyes, but #2 was as good as the material could have been made, and I credit the grizzled hired hand, Ted Post.
