Four Your Consideration - Treasure Hunt

Sean Says: Fooled you!

- Put any five reviews you like in your F.Y.C. list.
- Do not use reviews from the previous round - you must change them every round.
- Post here to declare that you've done it. Sooner is better than later.
- Provide a spoiler warning in your post when appropriate.
- You must read the F.Y.C.s of all participants.
- The next round starts on Monday or Thursday at 6:00 a.m. FWFR time, whichever comes next.
- The initiator of the next round will name the thread "FYCTH - #***" or "Sean's FYCTH - #***", "***" is one integer greater than the number of the current round. The initiator of the next round will copy this post verbatim and it will appear as the opening post of the next round, the only things that may be changed are fonts/colours and smileys (which may be removed altogether if desired) and the inviso comment after "Sean Says:".

Happy April - we're no fools!

> BIG SPOILER for Shutter Island

Other helpful notelets:

Lemmy in for #597.

The Guilty Generation—Robert Young, who almost 25 years later would star in TV’s long running Father Knows Best, has a gangland father (Boris Karloff) who tries to run his son’s love life.

Man Who Loved Redheads—A chance encounter with a red-headed beauty changes a young lad’s life.

The English title of La ragazza con la valigia is Girl With a Suitcase. Claudia Cardinale was HOT.

In Jeremiah Johnson, Will Geer plays a savvy mountain man who helps Redford learn to survive.

The Sicilian chronicles the life of would-be liberator of Sicily Salvatore Giuliano and is based on a novel by Mario Puzo. None of the novel's references to the Corleone family were retained in the adaptation.

I usually only enter once every five or six rounds, but why not, eh?

Spoiler on 'Hurt Locker' in regard to Guy Pearce's role. 'Gran Torino' involves youthful crime and a crotchety Kowalski, with a nod to Tennessee Williams. The rest are clear enough, vote or not, your choice.

It's April Fools, so here are some examples of extreme gamesmanship

P.S. my reviews for "Funny Games" refer to two now iconic moments - it would be a spoiler to explain them specifically if you haven't seen the film(s) - but the initial complicit wink to the audience, and the rewinding of the action by remote control are some of the most brilliantly audacious moments I can think of in recent film.

So now when I see it I'll be thinking "What's going to happen with Guy Pearce? What's going to happen with Guy Pearce? What's going to happen with Guy Pearce?" until it's obvious.
