The title refers to getting straight down to the truth of the matter (presumably as well as to getting in a bad way), which is of course exactly what the film and its hermit leading character do not do, thankfully. It's a nice, unhurried character study with a hard edge and only a little period-drama hokeyness. Turns out that it's based on a true story from the 1930s.
4/5 for now; I could see that going up to 5/5. |
