MY BIRTHDAY TREAT FOR YOU!
On Friday I'll be a year older, and I'll be feeling very generous to you all. So if you feel like playing this ego-trip game, I'll be handing out votes.

This year's game is: SIX DEGREES OF BAFTA/BACON

and the object is to trace my onscreen connection to Kevin Bacon. I will provide a start film and an end film and you just have to research the connections. If you post your connections and they are correct connections, you can then post links to two pages of your choice for me to vote on. This is the way I vote: I go through each row on a page and pick the review I think is top. So that means a potential 20 votes per question. I think. My math is crap!
NB - the connections are usually actors ... but not always!

1. Animal House to MouseyWON BY SALOPIAN

2. Starting Over to FutzWON BY LEMMYCAUTION VOTED!

3. The Gift to Futz WON BY SALOPIAN

4. Diner to Reds WON BY SALOPIAN

5. Footloose to Love & Death WON BY BEANMIMO VOTED!

6. White Water Summer to Unusual Ground Floor Conversion WON BY DEMONIC VOTED!

7. JFK to The Great Gatsby WON BY SALOPIAN

8. Mystic River to Reds WON BY SALOPIAN VOTED!

And two bonus questions because they involve theatre so will take much more research!

BONUS
9. The Big Picture to Privates on Parade
WON BY MM0rkeleb VOTED!
BONUS WON BY DEMONIC VOTED!

10. Flatliners to Steel Magnolias WON BY MM0rkeleb VOTED!

Have fun!

Sounds fun!

Just to clarify on numbers, should there be six films including the start and end ones, six films in between (i.e. eight in total) or six steps (i.e. seven films)?

Not necessarily - it's just called 6 degrees because in the real game you have to trace your connection to Kevin in 6 or less. But none of them will be more than 6. OK?

Footloose, Dianne Wiest - Hannah and Her Sisters, Woody Allen - Love and Death.

Here are two pages of my twos for you to peruse.

O.K., but six in which of the senses I listed?! It's not like there is only one correct way in each case. There will be loads of ways of doing each one.

You know, I don't really care how many there are. Just start at the first film and make your way to the last one. Six is just a red herring. Forget six. Six is an elephant. Just make the connections, and post them. I'm sure you'll do just fine

I didn't have to start at the first one did I??

Perfect!
Post your two pages and I should have got round to you by the end of the month.

Have I got this right?

Footloose to Love & Death:

Bacon in Footloose with John Lithgow
Lithgow in Dreamgirls with Danny Glover
Glover in ANTZ with Woody Allen
Allen in Love & Death with our own Beth Porter.

In inviso until confirmed.

Well, lemmy, it's fine but it's too late. Beanie beat you to it! And with fewer connections, too!

Sorry - please try again with another question.

<Kevin Bacon> JFK <Donald Sutherland> Ordinary People <Robert Redford> The Great Gatsby <Beth Porter>

Am I allowed to choose someone with Kevin Bacon in the first film like this?

Spot on! Though there's a much shorter solution involving an actress in Starting Over ... and I'll tell you for free she was a very intimately involved with one of the actors in your list! But you win the question. Just post the links to your two pages and I'll get to your votes by the end of the month.

Yes, all of yours work fine, Salopian. Of course, there are - as you pointed out earlier - many roads to the truth. Some involve directors, but your solutions win you those three! Post your two selected page links and I'll get to your votes by the end of the month.
