Posted - 05/23/2008 : 07:20:09 Is it me, or does Calmer constantly rule the front page of the site(albeit, these past 2-5 days per my calculations)?
Does anybody write/review/submit more 'New Films' than the reviewer in my question?
For the longest time I thought this person/reviewer to not really exist(sort of a figment of Benj's imagination, so he/Benj could submit without the pressures of actually standing by his reviews), but I'll amend my initial ideals(they're antiquated anyway)...
Calmer actually exists as the single-most elusive 'Merping' identity on the site(There, I said it...Merp-wise, anyway), and I'm starting to dig the anonymity. I've never seen him/her in Fourum(I've only been frequenting since July of 2007, but the precedent has to start somewhere, right?!)...
The anonymity lends creedence to the fact that no matter how hard I try/submit, I'll never catch this reviewer... Hell, I'm still chasing PKMN, and gaining no ground, so a wall has been hit...
Randall, beware... Your title is in jeopardy, and not from me!
p.s. I respect Benj as a reviewer/MERP, this isn't about him. Just thought I could assign an identity to Calmer that wouldn't affect my Fwiffering self-esteem...
I can acoount for damn near everybody else in Fourum, but until Calmer steps to the forefront, I have theories that need addressing...
So step forward, or actually don't! The intrigue is well worth my time invested.
There, that's my Friday post...

Very cool.
I'm 9 away from 4,000 now. Eeking, eeking, eeking my way towards 4,000.

You got there... I noticed it earlier today when I saw you flashing the red halo and such.
I envy you so much, but wait, I still aspire to reach that milestone, hopefully within the next year and a half.
Congrats Monty!
Thanks. I threw some votes at your top-voted page, since I realize you didn't post on my thread where I was offering votes.
Not loving your The Birds review.

Love your post concerning Memorial Day(Puts me in mind of my days in the Army, the 'Old Guard' to be specific, whereupon we'd place a flag in front of every grave in Arlington National Cemetary for Memorial Day. One year, I was lucky enough to place a flag in front of ex Prez Taft's resting place, and took a few minutes to salute a fallen president).
Congrats also on your approaching milestone of 4000 reviews, an accopmlishment indeed. I love watching those I revere/respect succeed at climbing the Fwiffering ladder(which you certainly qualify for), as it lends hope to my own quest...
You go!

Posted - 05/28/2008 : 08:13:44 I believe that there should be no malice in anyone passing others up on the list. We all do the best we can and we can all appreciate the hard work that goes into getting each and every review accepted. If you pass me up, more power to ya, and keep up the good work!

Um, just so you know, if you're really close to passing PKMN up, he'll come over here and start kvetching about how not enough of his reviews are getting accepted. When you do pass him up, he'll go bonkers. That's life!
(I thought passing MelissaS up would be easy, but apparently she's still hammering them out!)
Um, just so you know... when I get around to catching PKMN, it'll eventually mean I have to deal internally with catching you also, Chocky, which is not lost on me at all!
If the 'kvetching' is all I'll have to deal with in this transaction, so be it, but it will come, and the day I pass you will be dark in my eyes. I've set my goals very high(accepted reviews-wise) on the site, and passing you will not be a high-lite...
Good luck with Melissa S, sounds like we've got some fish to fry, girl!
In short, PKMN's a done deal, Kvetching and all! |

Calmer is the only reviewer who has ever overtaken me in the "most reviews" list!
Calmer has posted on the fourum on one or two occasions and I've also exchanged a few pms with him. A nice guy. I know a couple of things about him but I won't reveal them for fear of denting the mystique in which CF now holds him!

At this point, I hold (him) in the highest esteem... I haven't exchanged PMs with the legend, but I will soon extend my hand....
To that end, I say this... No reviewer has ever taken me from behind(take that as you may), but the day will surely come, when once passed, a reviewer shall return to claim what is rightfully his/hers. As I climb the Fwiffering ladder, it has become obvious to me... I don't 'own' this site, but I can own my personal reviews.
Hey Whipper, do you ever sleep? Is there a section of Fourum you don't frequent?! I hope the answer is no, cuz I'm gettin' my arse handed to me right now in poker, and this is all I have to look forward to at the moment....
Get some!
Calmer is the roadrunner of the fwfr world.
Speaking of poker, I was playing at an online table the other night at Texas Holdem when one guy had four kings... and lost to a royal flush. Those are about the same odds as anyone overtaking Calmer.
I visit (or "stink up" as some would say) quite a lot of the fourum but I'm pretty selective about the games I play. Oh, and I've never posted on the "Last Fourumite To Post Wins!" thread as I don't want to throw away my chances of winning.
And I plan to catch up on my sleep when I'm dead.
Speaking of odds... I was in Atlantic City just about amonth ago, and had my AAA, KK routinely crushed by four kings. I feel the same way these days as I chase PKMN and Calmer, who both continue to astound me with their reviewing prowess...
Ahhhhhh, someday ! |

Posted - 05/23/2008 : 11:51:24 Josh, lemmy, noncentz and I have added more films in total than calmer, but he has definitely been adding the most for quite a while. I didn't update this list that long ago, so you can see how many he has added in a short time. |
