Posted - 11/01/2006 : 16:20:08 On Halloween the topic turned to scary movies, and I recalled a scene from a movie I saw when I was a kid watching late-night local TV.
Somebody received an anonymous gift of a pair of binoculars. (I think the recipient was a woman, but I'm not even sure about that.) When she lifted them up to her face, spikes shot out and stabbed her in the eyes.
I remember nothing else about the movie, but that scene has stuck with me all these years. Anybody have any idea what film that was? |

On some levels, this film kinda' sounds like a predecessor to 'Saw'. Perhaps they should re-release it as 'Saw Before'
It's very good considering its age, and nobody who's seen it can forget the binocs scene. It was the talk of the schoolyard for days. |

Now, can you please approve my review for it? |

Only 170 votes. Those kinds of movies are often rather hard to find. |

Gosh! Well remembered Wheel7 and well tracked, Benj! The only reason I know this scary film is [sorry, name-dropping alert] because it featured Graham Curnow. Who?! I hear you cry! Graham, now sadly the late Graham Curnow, was the very long-term lover of Victor Spinetti, who played in both A Hard Day's Night and Help! When I first came to London they were both extremely kind to my husband and myself, and Victor became one of the patrons of our theatre company. Gosh, what a small world. Thanks, guys, for the trip down memory lane.
