Continuing the musical theme, what could be luverlier than My Fair Lady (or Pygmalion on speed.)

Abbreviated rules borrowed from here to encourage some new entrants ....

The Rules

The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The second line has seven syllables.
The third, and final, line has five syllables.

The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.

To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Simple as that. Also, haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.

Only one entry per person as per The Blevins Rule. However, you are allowed to edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time. *

Voting.

If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total, even if you are Sludge and its your birthday. This could mean the difference between the adoration and envy of your fellow Fwiffers or being the feckless butt of our jokes!

You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!

---------------------------------

For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite haikus. The voting is as follows:

3 pts fwfr a
2 pts fwfr b
1 pt fwfr c
--------------------------------

You may vote only once
You cannot vote for yourself.
You can vote for the previous winner

You vote by sending me your votes in a PM (Private Message) HERE, to Me.

When the voting deadline ends (9pm Wednesday 22OCT FWFR time), the votes are tallied and the top three places are announced. Get your votes to the church on time!

And Bob's your uncle! Thanks!

The result? By George, I think I've got it!

In third place, with 7 points - 2,2,2,1 - our very own Eliza herself...

Chocky!

In 2nd place, with 9 points - 3,2,2,1,1 - bearing an uncanny resemblence to Colonel Pickering, we have...

Clay!!

But in first place, with an astounding 10 points - 3,3,3,1 - our very own Henry Higgins, a man who's physical similarity to Rex Harrison is, well, spooky, we have none other than...

MguyX!!!

Give us a new haiku subject.

Sorry, my elocution lesson ran late.

Voted, now, though.

We're waiting for one more voter before I can pronounce the winner.

I won't say who that person is, we'll just call them Ebabatfab to protect their anonymity.

Why can't a woman
be more like a man? Watch what
you wish for, Henry.

Voting's all a little early guys!

It's only Monday and it wouldn't surprise me if there were more entrants between now and Wednesday.

In fact...

[If there are more entries I've no problem with those who have voted "revoting" if they want. Still, let's try not to develop too many revoting habits, eh?]

Spain's plains may get wet
but Eliza's empowered
to start her own reign.

Liza learns a lot
for a little guttersnipe
Doolittle does much

A pompous blowhard
Makes a girl over, HIS way.
World's oldest story!

This is my 'aiku:

Henry Higgins helps
Eliza elocute "aitch",
so she talks proper.

In Covent Garden
these days posh girls learn Cockney.
Eliza would laugh.

BaftaBaby Posted - 10/16/2009 : 09:09:17
Eliza speak posh?
She can Doolittle ... or sing
Loewe. That'll Lerner.
