Coens take on the Odyssey with hilarious results.

Let's get haikuing on "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"

Link and rules in a second.

Have to go grab them.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0190590/

---

Abbreviated rules (re)borrowed from here to encourage some new entrants .... or old ones back.

The Rules

The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The second line has seven syllables.
The third, and final, line has five syllables.

Example:
First, five syllables
Then there's seven syllables
Last line? Five again.

The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site.

To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. Simple as that. Also, haikus may be risque, but nothing explicit please.

Only one entry per person as per The Blevins Rule. However, you are allowed to edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time.

Voting.

If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. If you do not vote, you'll lose 3 points from your total, and suffer from Significant Shrinkage. This could mean the difference between Stardom and a big fat Dumpster Dive.

You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be like a lurker vote!

---------------------------------

For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite haikus. The voting is as follows:

3 pts fwfr a
2 pts fwfr b
1 pt fwfr c
--------------------------------

You may vote only once
You cannot vote for yourself.
You can vote for the previous winner

You vote by sending me your votes in a PM (Private Message) to me.

When the voting deadline ends (9pm Wednesday 19 August FWFR time), the votes are tallied and the top three places are announced.

Now, stand back or John Goodman will smack you upside the head with a big stick.

Okay -- all the votes are in, including a surprise lurker vote from someone I am TRYING to talk into joining us next round.

NOT TO MENTION WHIPPER!!!!!! WHIPPER, COME BACK!!!!

Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? Where indeed?

Well, he wasn't actually turned into a frog. But he did almost get kicked out of the theatre for talking too loud.

In third place,

The bottom of the Soggy Bottom boys.

And our winner. He sure is a Dapper Dan. Even though he gets knocked upside the head with a tree branch. And his wife claimed he was dead.

It's Sludge. (3,3,3,2,3)

Congratulations Sludge.

Choose a film that even our lurker, who claims he doesn't see movies.
Hello?

And our pal, Whipper (who doesn't participate if the movie is TOO NEW) will want to write about.

Tall order.

Sorry.

Voted.

Came up with another (too late for vote) (how do I make it truly invisible?):

Get the allusion?
Sirens in the river should
have given it up.

While I find the act of conversation during gustation vulgar, I manged an exercise of my franchise to vote nonetheless. Here endeth the lesson (*WHACK*).

It's no palindrome -
A man, a plan, and the Klan.
It's an Odyssey.
