Men seldom make passes
At girls who wear glasses.

demonic, be sure and tell me when your project gets anywhere close to me, b/c I'll pay good money to see it!

VV!

I'm currently working on a play about Dorothy Parker so the quotes are coming thick and fast... but as an addendum to Randall's selection, I'll offer -

Some men tear your heart in two,
Some men flirt and flatter,
And some men never look at you
And that clears up the matter.

and on the same tack as Lemmy:

You know she speaks eighteen languages, and she can't say 'no' in any of them.

and a nice bit of wordplay to finish -

Parker was on honeymoon and her editor at the New Yorker called asking for some late copy. Her maid was shouting up to her, so she yelled back down "tell him I've been too fucking busy.... Or vice versa."

God bless Dorothy Parker.

Well matt I only found the accolade due to your excellent review on extension ladder rescues.

'I can't write five words but that I change seven': Dorothy Parker. Maybe she meant four words.

Some good stuff this round.

If all the young ladies who attended the Yale prom were laid end to end, no one would be the least surprised.

Yep.

V&V.

Yep, that's Dorothy Parker's most famous line. My second favorite is a little poem which has guided me through life:

Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song,
A medley of extemporanea;
And love is a thing that can never go wrong;
And I am Marie of Romania.

Chicks can be funny!
