Four Your Consideration - Treasure Hunt

Sean Says:

- Put any five reviews you like in your F.Y.C. list.
- Do not use reviews from the previous round - you must change them every round.
- Post here to declare that you've done it. Sooner is better than later.
- Provide a spoiler warning in your post when appropriate.
- You must read the F.Y.C.s of all participants.
- The next round starts on Monday or Thursday at 6:00 a.m. FWFR time, whichever comes next.
- The initiator of the next round will name the thread "FYCTH - #***" or "Sean's FYCTH - #***", "***" is one integer greater than the number of the current round. The initiator of the next round will copy this post verbatim and it will appear as the opening post of the next round, the only things that may be changed are fonts/colours and smileys (which may be removed altogether if desired) and the inviso comment after "Sean Says:".

Glad you like it. You had a couple of excellent ones this round.

OK, but it then is't it as generic as reviewing, say, "Ever After" with 'Cinderella' when there are other movies to which 'Cinderella' could apply.

Er, not really, because the only other film to which my review could apply is the film with that name. Also, I don't know Ever After but assume that it's just the Cinderella story. Shrek 2 and the film of my review aren't the same story; they just share that element. I'm only querying my rejection relative to your review's approval, not objecting to your review itself, but there are at least two films whose title is your review so that evidently is not the issue.

Fairynuff, I have been Salopianed!

My least favorite lyric back then:

And he still found plenty of time to sing!

Sing? Robin Hood sings? Men, don't be so merry -- loose more arrows! [Oops, think I'm getting into unwanted Freudian territory. But I'm still straight!]

Done & dusted.

My policy is never explain, never apologise. But I'm now wondering: should I have explained the one about the Avenger?

The Hillman Avenger was a dire car of 1970s Britain. One of those rust buckets that seemed desirable in the showroom but four years later looked ready for the scrapyard. So it wouldn't be the first choice of any self-respecting Messiah. And Jesus, according to the gospels, was not a great enthusiast for vengeance. So the review has two meanings.

Oh well, suit yourself as Frankie Howerd was wont to say.

He called the greatest archers to the tavern on the green
And vowed to help the people of the king...
