Actually, I've never seen or heard South Pacific. I'm only familiar with the cover of the song by Captain Sensible that topped the UK charts in the 80's.
The current production at Lincoln Center, the first time SOUTH PACIFIC's been back on Broadway since its original run, is spectacular. An orchestra of nearly 40 pieces, the exact orchestration audiences heard in 1949. Magnificent.
Me, I've never seen or heard Captain Sensible.
